Sometimes I bring out the best in others. Sometimes I bring out the worst.
Sometimes I bring out both in the same person.
I am kind, generous, and open-hearted, and it draws people who are the same. As well as people who want to be kind, generous, and open-hearted but don’t know how.
When they are with me, they become kinder, more generous, more open-hearted. They feel better and more whole. They connect to parts of themselves they have been trained to hide or shamed for having.
They feel seen and accepted as they are.
It feels good to feel seen and accepted as you are. Many of us crave it desperately. Most? All?
I thought I had found it 15 years ago as I walked down the aisle to marry my Prince Charming.
