Gratitude Project Takes to the Screen

Packing this week so trying out video…

Hi friends. Short on time and packing and moving a lot this week so I decided to talk instead of write. Apologies to those who prefer to read. I’ll get back to writing next week.

This week in an unscripted video that cuts off abruptly at the end I share gratitude for my ability to do things I fear and/or deeply dislike again and again until I fear them less.

Packing, moving, dancing, and appearing on video are all phobias I’ve overcome in recent years. I am extremely grateful to be able to turn toward things I fear and learn about them until I fear them less. Grateful this is instinctual.

Good Grief is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, please consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

I’m also grateful to be surviving my 10th move in five years with only moderate nervous system dysregulation.

Finally, I’m grateful for the many regulating practices and resources I employ daily to be able to confront and overcome things I fear one after another. Including hydration, dance, walking, support animals, nature, connection, writing, culinary therapy, curiosity, brain food, and self-compassion. Also grief and gratitude.

How to do hard things happens to share a lot in common with how to survive narcissistic abuse. Knowing how to pack and move also helps.
